        Frequently Asked Questions

What is the earliest gestational age I can come in for an ultrasound?

6 weeks is the earliest point at which a pregnancy ultrasound can be completed. This ultrasound is an
abdominal ultrasound. We do NOT offer trans-vaginal ultrasounds. At approximately 6 weeks, the
gestational sac can be seen via abdominal ultrasound.

What the earliest you can see gender with ultrasound?

We start our gender scans at 13 weeks and 3 days.

What is the difference between 2D, 3D, 4D, and now HD Ultrasounds?

A 2D ultrasound is the standard black and white image which we use to look at the profile and internal
        structures of the baby.

A 3D ultrasound allows us to see the surface of the baby’s face in a still image.

A 4D ultrasound is a surface view that you can see in live motion. You can see the baby yawn or move
        their hands.

HD refers to a special software package that allows us to see baby’s features more clearly, along with
        special lighting features.
Our ultrasound machine, the GE Voluson E6 is the best of the best at displaying all these types of
        pictures.

When is the best time to schedule my 3D/4D/HD Live Ultrasound?

We like to see our babies for 3D/4D and HD Live anytime between 22-34 weeks. The best viewing time is
between 28 and 32 weeks. After 32 weeks, we can still get good pictures, but the chances go down
because of the baby and placenta’s possible position, and the amniotic fluid naturally tends to diminish.

What should I do prior to the 3D/4D appointment?

Drink plenty of water even several days before your appointment to ensure your amniotic fluid is clear.
About a half hour before your 3D/4D ultrasound scan, try to drink a fruit juice so that your baby will be
awake during your session (unless you are told not to by your physician).

When do I get my 3D/4D pictures and videos?

Less than 5 minutes after your session has ended.

Is this safe for me and my baby?

Ultrasound has been used to see into the womb for over 35 years. No adverse effects have been found.
As trained sonographers, we utilize the same safety rules as we would in any medical setting.

Do I need an appointment to get an ultrasound?

Yes, ultrasound are by appointment only.

How many people are allowed to in the room during my ultrasound?

We do not have a limit on the amount of guest we allow. We have a large spacious studio so please feel free to invite friends and family.

        Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance because this is an elective procedure.

Will my doctor be contacted about the 3D/4D ultrasound?

We do not contact your doctor prior to the scan since this is an elective procedure. We do require
however that you currently are under prenatal care and if you have any concerns, you should ask your
doctor. Ultrasound technicians in general cannot make a diagnosis.

How are 8K Ultrasound Images different from standard 3D ultrasound images?

8K ultrasound images are generated with incredibly high resolution. The average 3D ultrasound image is
generated at a resolution of 1.5 megapixels, while 8K Ultrasound images have a resolution of four times
        higher – 6 megapixels!

The result is breathtakingly beautiful images of your baby, which you’ll be able to cherish forever.

How much does 8K Ultrasound cost?

8K 3D Ultrasound images are now available as a stand-alone service or can be added to any of our
        ultrasound packages.

The price for this amazing enhancement is just $30, and it’s good for one image only.
        Or $50 for two images.

PCR technology can detect the presence or absence of male Y chromosome in the blood sample
provided starting at 6 weeks into pregnancy. If it is detected, then the baby's gender is male and if it is
not detected then the baby's gender is female. The test is backed by clinical research.
